Membership (Guild)


The Ulster Genealogical & Historical Guild provides a forum for the Irish and Scots-Irish community. It is designed to give you -- the local and family historian -- access to a range of specialist resources and services that you will find invaluable in your quest to complete your research.

 

For only £30 per year, members receive 2 annual publications; get to publish their interests in the members’ Directory; receive discounts on ppv databases and UHF publications; and have exclusive access to a range of member-only databases (distinct from ppv databases).

Guild Publications


Guild members receive two annual journals:

 

- Familia: Ulster Genealogical Review

 

- Directory of Irish Family History Research

 

Guild members are welcome to make submissions for consideration.

Product Discounts


Guild members receive the following product discounts:

 

- 50% off pay-per-view full transcription records from our birth, death and marriage databases.

 

- 15% off all Ulster Historical Foundation publications, when purchased through our online bookstore.

Members' Area


Members of the Ulster Genealogical and Historical Guild get privileged access to a Members' Area where a range of sources are available to help you in your research.

 

These include the full text of the Guide to Irish Libraries (2007), an abridged version of Researching Scots-Irish Ancestors (2005), unlimited access to the Foundation's database of around 50,000 gravestone inscriptions and much more. More

Share Your Research Interests


A key attraction of Guild membership is to have your own research interests shared with other members, through our annual Directory as well as on an online searchable database.

 

Members can place up to 6 names for inclusion, for free, and include forename/surnames, date ranges and locations.

Members in the UK can Gift Aid subscriptions.

 

Use Gift Aid and you can make this donation and other eligible past and future donations worth more.For every pound you give to us, we get an extra 28 pence from the Inland Revenue.

 

We will soon have a box on our online registration form to complete, but for now you can authorise the Foundation's staff to 'tick the  box' by sending permission via email.


To qualify for Gift Aid, what you pay in income tax or capital gains tax must equal the amount we will claim in the tax year.
